Precious Moments Figurines
Life is full of many special memories and moments. One of the very many ways
to remember those special moments are with decorative collectibles and
figurines. One of the many popular figurines of such memories are Precious
Moments.
Precious Moments are one of the figurine industry's leading companies. The
creator of Precious Moments is Sam Butcher. Sam was known for creating the
adorable drawings of young boy and girl cartoon figures with tear drop eyes.
The eyes on the Precious Moments are what makes the figurines so lovable.
The drawings that Sam had originally created were designed for his friends
and family as gifts. Drawing at a young age, Sam and his family knew that
there was a special talent that he had. Luckily, Sam was highly supported
by his immediate family, especially his mother. She encouraged him to keep
up with his artistic abilities, and he eventually won a scholarship to the
College of Arts and Crafts in Berkley. Sam's devout faith and adorable
drawings landed him a job as a story illustrator for the children's
television program, Tree Top House. It was then that Sam and a friend, Bill
Biel, collaborated and began to create a line of cards and postcards, called
Jonathan and David. Not too long after the creation and obvious popularity
of Jonathan and David, Sam and Bill took the drawings to a convention, where
the drawings brought about many turning heads at the fair. Shortly after
that, it was then that Sam Butcher was approached by the Enesco company to
create a three dimensional figurine of his creation. Thus began the history
of the well known and loved Precious Moments figurines.
Today, there are hundreds of Precious Moments that are available to the
collector. The Precious Moments are created for various reasons...weddings,
birthdays, as well as holidays. They are truly adorable figurines that are
cherished by millions around the world. These beautiful figurines are
guaranteed to bring "precious moments" for many.
