Lladro Porcelain
Porcelain figurines have long been one of the most regarded decorative
collectibles around. There are many companies that create decorative
porcelain statues and figures. One of most prestigious of all of them is the
Lladro company.
The history of the Lladro company is a great one. Three brothers, Juan,
Vicente and Jose Lladro lived in a small village near Valencia, Spain. It
was in the 1950s that the three brothers collectively decided to create a
small work shop aimed at creating new ways to produce porcelain. The Lladro
brothers seemed to have an instant success with their artworks, as villagers
were excited about their figurines. Before too long, the requests for the
beautiful porcelain pieces became overwhelming, and so the three brothers
had to call on other talented sculptures and artists to help them create the
masterpieces. The Lladro's son realized that having help was a benefit for
them, as the added workers could help spread the word of their creations.
The year 1953 seemed to be the year that the gates opened for the Lladro
brothers. It was in this year that Juan, Jose and Vicente added figurines to
their line of ever expanding art. The brothers, as well as the added
artists had already collectively created decorative vases, plates, and
jugs. The addition of the figurines to the Lladro line was guaranteed to be
an added success. Over fifty years later, this fact has remained true.
Although the Lladro items originated in Spain, there are now over 120
countries world wide that sell their artistic and decorative pieces. The
Lladro line is a high-end one, but individuals indeed get their monies worth
with every piece. Lladro porcelain items have been around for over fifty
years, and is only guaranteed to producer finer pieces over time.
