Vintage Greeting Cards

There are many greeting card companies that provide their customers with touching classics. Whether the card is intended as light humor, or with deep sympathy, one thing is for certain; greeting cards have been around for quite some time now. Even with new cards out on the market though, one of the most beloved type of greeting cards are vintage greeting cards.

Vintage greeting cards come in a wide variety, just as the greeting cards of today. Vintage greeting cards are easy to identify as well. With these cards depicting Victorian style to art deco, the colors seem to not be as vibrant as they are today. Glossy colors were not readily available as they are today. The colors that were on the vintage greeting cards depicted the colors of the times. In the 1970's, it was all about greens, plaids, yellows and browns. Colors and patterns of that sort are prevalent on many of the greeting card from the past.

Other vintage greeting cards that are highly collectible are holiday greeting cards. These cards, especially Christmas cards, are very highly regarded. Many collectors like to watch times change right before their eyes with the vintage greeting cards. It is not hard for them to locate the vintage greeting cards, either. The cards can be found through many online sellers. Sometimes, people even place ads in local newspapers, as they are selling their vintage, never used, greeting cards at garage sales. Vintage greeting cards can be purchased separately or in bulk. Sometimes, the greeting card companies themselves will be willing, ready and able to sell their out of stock greeting cards. Many collectors jump on these deals from greeting card companies, because once they are gone, they are forever thrown into the mix of vintage greeting card history.
