Faberge Eggs

There are many people that have a hobby of collecting decorative items. Some items may be figurines, while others may be statues. One of the most popular decorative collectibles are Faberge Eggs.

The history of the Faberge Egg is truly quite interesting. During the late 1800s, there was a Russian Orthodox Czar that was preparing for Easter. For the Orthodox, Easter is one of the holiest holidays of the year. The Easter celebration is often celebrated with the exchanging of eggs. Thus begins the history of the Faberge Egg. The czar requested that a decorative egg be created for his wife as an Easter gift. What was created was truly a remarkable gift. The Czarina was so highly impressed with the egg, as it reminded her of her homeland. From that Easter holiday on, the czar received an exquisite Faberge Egg.

The well -known Faberge Egg is truly exquisite. All of the eggs are hand crafted, and possess some sort of fine metal. Many of the metals that are used in Faberge eggs are 1 karat, 14 karat and 18 karat gold are often used all throughout the egg as well as sterling silver. The Faberge Eggs, highly detailed in nature, are created where some of them are like little hinged trinket boxes. The delicate Faberge Eggs take on the same shape and size of an actual egg, so it is best for them to be displayed on a metal stand.

Faberge eggs are truly decorative collectibles. Many people will spend the hundreds of dollars for the authentic Faberge Egg. Often times, those individuals that collect Faberge eggs keep them in a class case, such as a curio cabinet or likewise. This is to ensure the safety of the egg from being damaged. Faberge eggs are truly exquisite pieces of decorative art, and can cherished every day of the year for many years to come.
