Vintage Comic Books
Many adults remember growing up reading comic classics. To be able to buy a
comic book was always such a treat for children young and old. To this day,
comic books are still a popular selling commodity.
Comic books have gained much acceptance and popularity among cartoon lovers.
Many comics were created after television characters. One such comic book
are the "Superman" comics. Superman comic books have truly developed with
the times, and are still as popular as ever. Movies and tons of memorabilia
have been created from the Superman comics and characters. Another popular
comic book in its heyday were "Batman" comic books. For true thrill
seekers, comics such as "The Twilight Zone" gave kids a great scare factor
thrill when it first originated. Other comic books depicted western scenes,
such as Cowboys and Indians. "The Rawhide Kid" and "The Outer Limits" were
also very popular comics when they were released.
Such classic comics as the ones listed above have become fun collectibles.
Comic books kept in plastic sleeves in mint condition can generate a
bunch of money at sales. Even more so, first edition (the very first
print) of a popular or even rare comic book in mint condition can also be
sold for very high prices. These comic books can also be very hard to
locate. The reason for this is because many people do not want to get rid
of such comic books. It could also be because adults did not hold onto the
comics from their childhoods. Had they kept the comic books and kept them in
mint condition, they could be sitting on a gold mine!
For many collectors, it is the mere fact that they have a piece of ephemera
history that they do not want to let go of the comic books. Other people
yearn for the perfect comic book to add to their vintage comic book
collection. Whatever their decision is, there is a always a reason behind
their desire to collect comic books. The main underlying reason for the
collection is that they collect the comic books out of pure love for the
art.
