Pieces of the Past - Vintage Beer Posters
Since the creation of beer and lagers, beer companies have had to come up
with innovative ways to promote their beer products. Trying to make sure
that the advertisement will be seen by many is one of the main stipulations
and goals of the advertisement. A very common and popular way that beer
companies have advertised are through beer posters.
Vintage beer posters are not only collectible, but they are often seen as
elegant masterpieces too. Some of the earlier and very old vintage beer
posters were painted by hand. This painstaking process was truly a labor of
love. The main reason for hand painted posters was because the
advertisements were created long before a stamp press was available for mass
poster production. Vintage beer posters that have been hand created are
highly valuable, and are often very hard to locate. On such posters, time
has truly taken its toll. Discoloration has occurred to many of the vintage
beer posters, making them less valuable.
Other vintage beer signs were mass produced with lithographs. These posters
were readily available in Europe, Germany, and France, as these locations
are very fond of their domestic beers. Even vintage posters that were mass
produced can reap high profits for any seller if it is in mint condition.
Collectors have a strong desire to collect vintage American beer posters as
well. These posters are just as valuable as the foreign country
counterparts, and just as collectible, too.
Vintage beer posters are usually quite easy to locate for purchase. Many
antique dealers, public and private, sell vintage beer posters. On
occasion, a beer company many even sell its valuable posters through
auctions. It is at auctions that a beer poster can be sold at a wide range
of prices. Vintage beer posters have been a selling hit for advertising
campaigns, and only continue to grow with much success.
